Beyond spraying, today's DJI Agras agriculture drones also spread rice seed, granular fertilizer and more — a faster, more even and more precise alternative to manual broadcasting. As an authorized DJI Agriculture dealer in Vietnam, 115Drone summarizes the rice spreading & fertilization workflow, tuned to Mekong Delta (ĐBSCL) field conditions.
Why spread seed & fertilizer by drone?
Compared with manual broadcasting, drone spreading offers clear advantages:
- Fast & labor-light: tens of hectares per day per shift, cutting seasonal labor.
- Even & accurate: metered, map-based spreading reduces thick/thin patches and seed waste.
- Reaches hard fields: muddy, flooded, or remote plots that ground machinery can't access.
- Data-driven: RTK positioning and flight logs support season management.
The spreading system on DJI Agras
The models 115Drone distributes all accept a quick-swap spreading system — simply remove the spray tank and install the spreading hopper:
- DJI Agras T25P — ~25 kg hopper, compact, ideal for co-ops and mid-size farms.
- DJI Agras T70P / T100 — large-capacity hopper (up to 150 L on the T100), high throughput for large fields.

Understand rice growth stages
Spreading at the right stage drives results:
- Vegetative (tillering) — nitrogen top-dressing to promote strong tillering.
- Reproductive (panicle initiation) — feed for panicle development; emphasize phosphorus & potassium.
- Ripening — limit nitrogen, focus on grain filling.
Sowing and feeding calendars in the Mekong Delta vary by season (Winter-Spring, Summer-Autumn, Autumn-Winter) and sub-region — always check local crop calendars and agronomy advice.
Flight parameters for spreading
Adjust to crop height and field conditions:
- Altitude: lower improves spreading accuracy, but avoid crop/terrain collisions.
- Speed & swath width: balance for full coverage without gaps or overlap (which causes local over-seeding).
- Dosage: set to your target seed density / fertilizer rate per hectare.
Before you fly
- Flight safety: check the environment — avoid people, obstacles and power lines.
- Positioning & routing: use RTK to plan full-coverage routes, minimizing gaps/overlap.
- Level the field: keep height variation under ~5 cm — uneven fields pool water and hurt germination.
- Calibrate the hopper: run a metering test before full-field spreading.
Regulatory note (Vietnam)
Operating agricultural drones must comply with current regulations (pilot training under Decree 288). 115Drone provides pilot training courses and paperwork support so you operate legally and safely.
